The Shimano Deore M5100 FD features a side swing technology for delivering smooth, precise, and quite shifting performance. The new design offers enhanced cable routing, and light action, and increases clearance for large wheels and short chain stays. It features more powerful outward shifting, extra wide for 2-by chainrings like 36T-26T, and wider tire clearance for up to 2.3 inches on wider rim profiles. The FD-M5100 comes in different types such as D, E, and M-type mounts. M type mount requires an adapter (34.9 mm). The Deore M5100 FD is a great choice for bikes with a double chainring at the front as it delivers consistent performance over all kinds of terrains.
